    223181 - Girls On The Run- Grades 3rd - 5th

    223181 - Girls On The Run- Grades 3rd - 5th

**Please note this class has filled in less then 1/2 hour in past years, please be prepared for registration date and time. Please read all expectations prior to registering your daughter for this program. **

Join a club for girls where it doesn't matter if you are fast or slow, just as long as you are having fun. At Girls on the Run, we play fun running games and talk about things that are important to girls. Best of all, you'll make friends who will like you just the way you are. Experience positive social, mental, spiritual, and physical development. Through self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts participants will develop a strong sense of identity, a healthier body image, and an understanding of what it means to be part of a team. The 5k race at Champlain Valley EXPO is currently scheduled for Saturday, June 3rd, 2017.

**Due to the importance of group dynamics and the experiential learning process of the Girls on the Run curriculum, girls who are absent for more than four (4) practices during one season will no longer be eligible to participate in Girls on the Run. It is critically important to the efficacy of the girls' program experience that they participate in both sessions each week. Please look at your daughter's schedule & plan accordingly. A refund may only be processed if a waitlist enrollment is possible. Thoughtful consideration of this rule is appreciated, as we have a waiting list, and we would love to have our full team at every practice.**

248131 - Basic Training and Social Skills for Dogs

248131 - Basic Training and Social Skills for Dogs

    1. UNDERSTAND YOUR DOG by learning how your dog communicates and why he does what he does. This includes our powerful program for building a confident, socially-savvy dog.
    2. HAVE A WELL-BEHAVED DOG. Yes, we cover the basic obedience training--walking nicely on leash, coming when called, and more -using a simple training approach you can use long after the class ends.
    3. BOND WITH YOUR DOG: through gentle touch techniques, fun games, and understanding your dog's unique personality.
Great for wiggly new puppies, newly adopted rescue dogs, or any humans and dogs who want help with the basics.

The course covers basicobedience so that you can walk your dog without going for a drag, get your dog to sit politely on greetings, and not jump all over your friends-but it offers much more!
We also teach you about how dogs communicate and learn (so you can apply our very easy dog training approach to your particular dog), and use the class to gently and productively expose your dog or pup to a range of new experiences. The course also covers "life skills" to help your dog be a fantastic companion and a mentally balanced healthy dog.

*Notes: Dogs are not to be brought to the first session. Please review class policies/restrictions (regarding vaccinations, aggressive dogs in class, children & visitors in class, etc.) please go to http://www.goldstardog.com/classes.php. Instructor: Deb Helfrich, Gold Star Dog Training

248133 - Beyond Basics Dog Training

    This five-week class:
Time to take off the training wheels! This class is the next step after our Basic Training and Social Skills. This class takes your training to the next level. What's the next level? Well, that's the beauty of this class- you decide! Like many exercise classes that show you various intensity levels of a given exercise, this class shows you the basic, intermediate, and advanced version of each exercise. This permits perfect fit training for you and your dog! If your dog's heeling is fantastic, we'll help you take it to the next level. If your sits are still a challenge, we'll go back a level and reinforce the basics. The atmosphere is supportive yet challenging. The emphasis is on what you want to achieve with your dog within the exercises we teach, and then giving you the instruction and proper exercises to achieve your goals. *Note: Dogs are not to be brought to the first session. Needed equipment will be discussed at the 1st class. To review all class policies/restrictions (regarding vaccinations, aggressive dogs in class, etc.).
