148131 - Basic Dog Training and Social Skills

148131 - Basic Dog Training and Social Skills

    1. UNDERSTAND YOUR DOG by learning how your dog communicates and why he does what he does. This includes our powerful program for building a confident, socially-savvy dog.
    2. HAVE A WELL-BEHAVED DOG. Yes, we cover the basic obedience training--walking nicely on leash, coming when called, and more--using a simple training approach you can use long after the class ends.
    3. BOND WITH YOUR DOG: through gentle touch techniques, fun games, and understanding your dog's unique personality. Great for wiggly new puppies, newly adopted rescue dogs, or any humans and dogs who want help with the basics. The course covers basic obedience so that you can walk your dog without going for a drag, get your dog to sit politely on greetings, and not jump all over your friends- but it offers much more! We also teach you about how dogs communicate and learn (so you can apply our very easy dog training approach to your particular dog), and use the class to gently and productively expose your dog or pup to a range of new experiences. The course also covers "life skills" to help your dog be a fantastic companion and a mentally balanced healthy
dog. *Notes: Dogs are not to be brought to the first session. Please review class policies/restrictions (regarding vaccinations, aggressive dogs in class, children and visitors in class, etc.) please go to http://www.goldstardog.com/classes.php.

    159058 - Doubt

Winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize and a Tony Award, John Patrick Shanley's DOUBT, A PARABLE, is a brilliant and powerful play that explores issues of suspicion, moral certainty, and doubt as it tells the story of Sister Aloysius, a school principal, who takes matters into her own hands when she suspects charismatic Father Flynn of an improper relationship with one of his male students. Set in the Bronx in 1964, DOUBT is a play that could not be more timely.

    209000 - Trail Caretaker

    209000 - Trail Caretaker

Essex Parks & Recreation and the Conservation & Trails Commission are reviving the
    Essex Trails Caretaker program!

Think of it as similar to an "adopt a highway" program. This is your opportunity to adopt a trail or trails in your community! Do you enjoy hiking or walking, being outdoors, or learning new skills?
This program will teach individuals and families how to care for and help improve their favorite Essex recreation trails! You will receive guided tours of trails and instruction on the proper ways to prune vegetation, clear unwanted brush and debris, and overall help improve Essex’s recreation trails! This is a great way to stay active, learn more about our natural environment, and have fun helping your favorite local trails!

All efforts will be supported by Town of Essex staff and no prior skills or knowledge are needed.

    223070 - Lacrosse - Gr. K-2

The emphasis will be on having fun, while learning lacrosse skills, throwing, catching and cradling through drill rotation and game play. Lacrosse sticks can be provided for the 6-week session. Each participant in the Tiny Sticks program will receive their own t-shirt. To keep the tradition strong, the EHS Lacrosse players will run one of our practices. Stay tuned as the schedule gets updated closer to the season. A big THANK YOU to the Girls and Boys coaches at EHS for making this happen! Our last practice will include a scrimmage to bring all of the new skills learned in action to the field! Also, 2nd graders from our program will be recognized as they move onto regular game play in the future.
